History of Building
Built in 1886 by Van Wert Philanthropist George Marsh, this 4-story Romanesque Revival Style has been home to Hotel Marsh since its founding. There have been times when the hotel was not in operation such as recently as the space is being used as a Flower Shop. George Marsh was a benevolent community member as he also founded the Marsh Foundation with the purpose of housing orphans in the community.
